Rename the BIOS update file from P9X79-LE-ASUS-4407.CAP – to – “P9X79LE.CAP”.That installer if needed will pop up automatically. Note older bios versions require a converter to take it to a CAP but 4407 is already a CAP format. This is the bios file you need to copy to a USB drive. It containing a file called P9X79-LE-ASUS-4407.CAP. Under the BIOS section download the BIOS file called P9X79-LE-ASUS-4407.zip.Type in the model # of the motherboard and search. Download 4407 or newer bios file directly from Asus website (no other).The BIOS version is printed right on the motherboards, last 4 digits on white stick below BIOS label on board. Determine what BIOS version you currently have.You will need an empty USB pen drive formatted FAT 32. This BIOS update uses the USB Flashback update method described in the Asus manual and detailed below. As mentioned above, the fix process is the same except the BIOS file. Note that this same problem can happen with other Asus X79 motherboards (P9X79, P9X79 Deluxe, X79 Deluxe, P9X79 WS or P9X79 Pro)and the procedure is pretty much the same it just uses a different BIOS file.Īsus claims that the X79 Deluxe (not P9X79 Deluxe) motherboard is Ivy Bride-E (4900 series) ready however, we found the same problem every now and then.
